Susie Bello, M.S. Ed.
Principal

Susie Bello has over 19 years of experience in education as a Teacher, Department
Head, Mathematics and Science Instructional Coach, Curriculum Specialist,
Assistant Principal, and Principal. Mrs. Bello began her educational career as an
elementary teacher and department head at Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
She was then recruited to become a curriculum support specialist for the district
supporting 10 elementary schools and K-8 centers. She was paramount in
transforming low performing schools to meet the needs of twenty-first century
learners through use of technology and strategies for creating a positive culture.
She was part of Superintendent Carvalho’s team that succeeded with zero F
schools in the M-DCPS district. This experience led her into an administrative
position with AcadeMir Charter Schools, Inc.
Mrs. Bello served as the Assistant Principal and Mathematics and Science
Instructional Coach at AcadeMir Preparatory Academy (APA) and AcadeMir
Charter School Middle (ACSM). In her time there, ACSM became an A rated high
performing school and APA made huge gains and had academic success. She
assisted both schools with receiving SACS/COGNIA Accreditation.
Mrs. Bello was the founding principal of AcadeMir Charter School of Math and
Science (ACSMS), an elementary school in Homestead, FL. She has been the
proud principal of AcadeMir Charter School West (ACSW) for the past 4 years and
has led the school to achieve many distinguished accolades with local and national
organizations. She has also led the school to receive top performing scores in the
state of Florida, as well as the COGNIA re-accreditation. Recently, she led ACSW
to record breaking success achieving the highest school grade since the school
opened.
Mrs. Bello graduated Magna Cum Laude with a master’s degree in educational
leadership from Grand Canyon University and with the distinction of being placed
on the Dean’s List. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida International
University.
Mrs. Bello is married and the proud mother of four children. She and her family
value the strong sense of community and excellence within the AcadeMir Charter
Schools, Inc. organization.

Cindy Fonseca
Asst. Principal

Mrs. Fonseca began her career in education in 2013 after earning a Bachelor of Science in
Elementary Education from Florida International University. A few years into her teaching
career, driven by a desire to grow professionally and deepen her impact as an educator, she
returned to FIU to earn a Master of Science in Reading/Literacy.
Her career began as a K–5 interventionist at Bob Graham K–8 Center, where she supported a
wide range of student needs across grade levels. In 2014, Mrs. Fonseca joined AcadeMir Charter
School West, where she has since become an integral part of the school community. With a
strong background in upper elementary education, she has served in multiple leadership roles,
including grade-level lead, technology lead, Google Liaison, and club sponsor.
In 2023, she transitioned into the role of Reading Coach, where she collaborated closely with
fellow educators to support literacy instruction schoolwide. In recognition of her dedication,
leadership, and contributions to the school, the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal at
AcadeMir Charter School West presented itself at the start of the 2025–2026 school year—an
opportunity she proudly accepted.
As both an educator and a proud parent of two AcadeMir students, Mrs. Fonseca is deeply
committed to the values and mission of the organization. Both her personal and professional
growth within ACSW reflect her belief in its potential to empower both students and educators.
She looks forward to continuing to serve and grow alongside the AcadeMir community in her
new leadership role.
